No Printer Error


Symptoms:

    You get an error mesage stating that you do not have a printer installed

Detailed Information:

    You need to have a printer installed on your computer for the training
    A printer needs to be selected as our default product

Solution:

    If you have a printer installed, make sure it is selected as your default printer

    If you cannot install a printer in your work environment because of administrative rights, contact your local IT department to install it for you. Learnkey will not be able to help you install it if your network is locked down.

    Follow the instructions below to set up a virtual default printer.
    NOTE: You might need your Windows OS CD-ROM.
    Click on the following items: Start -> Settings -> Printers
    Double-click on the ’Add Printer’ icon
    Click ’Next’ (to begin wizard install)
    Click ’Next’ (for local printer)
    Click ’Next’ (to pick the first printer on the both lists)
    Click ’Next’ (to choose LPT1)
    Check the circle to make this printer your default printer for all windows-based programs
    DO NOT print a test page!
    Windows will now load drivers for the printer. At this point the computer might need your Windows Setup CD
    Restart your computer
    Reinstall your LearnKey Software
